Food was great, staff really nice and a beautiful pub set in an old fashioned stone building.
Cosy, characteristic pub in St Katherine's dock area, in the least crowded part of the city. Ideal for a quiet Saturday evening.

The Dickens Inn in Tower Hamlets is a totally unique waterfront wedding venue, with a Pandora’s box of treasures to discover on its doorstep. Strolling the picturesque decking and bridges around the St Katherine Docks unveils an impressive working marina with 185 berths of magnificent yachts and boats from around the world. The glistening vessels form a thriving community of seafarers, surrounded by a vibrant restaurant scene with direct views towards the iconic London landmarks of Tower Bridge and the Shard. Spending the day at St Katherine Dock feels a world away from the chaos of central London, making it East London’s best kept secret. Downstream, the majestic Tower of London takes precedence, an official Royal Palace and Fortress of Her Majesty The Queen. Here, your wedding guests can marvel at the sparkling Crown Jewels and learn of the fascinating history that shaped the ancestry of the British monarchy. All who visit Tower Hamlets on the North bank of the River Thames are blown away by the diversity of this London area, from the century old castles to the hip and happening street scene of Brick Lane.
The Dickens Inn is licensed for wedding ceremonies in its rustic barn-like Dickens Suite, but the events team understand that some couples may want to host their ceremony elsewhere in a local place of worship prior to the reception. St Katherine Dock is very close to a number of churches, that are all reachable within walking distance. The Roman Catholic Church of the English Martyrs (10 minute walk away) is an ornate parish church with attractive stained glass windows that could work well for your ceremony. In the other direction, St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wapping is a 12 minute walk away, and its elegant serene interior is popular for wedding ceremonies. Another option is St Peter’s London Docks (14 minute walk away). This Grade I listed Anglican church in Wapping has a beautiful beamed ceiling and offers a welcome place of refuge away from the hectic buzz of London’s city centre.
